Democrats like Tina Kotek proclaim they’re out to save democracy.
BS! Oregon lawmakers passed a record tax hike at a special session called by Kotek.
That includes jacking up gas taxes 15 percent.
The special session ended two weeks ago and the Governor still has not signed the gas tax increase. Kotek has a devious reason for NOT signing.
Thousands of Oregonians testified against the tax hike.
Hundreds of thousands are waiting to sign an initiative to put it to a vote. Democrats like Kotek don’t want a vote because they know voters will kill the gas tax.
You only have 90 days to gather the signatures for referendum.
The 90 days started when the session ended September 29th, but you can’t gather signatures till the Governor signs the bill.
That means if Kotek delays her signature for, let’s say, a month , she still gets her big tax increase…but steals 30 of the 90 days to gather signatures.
That may kill the effort to get it on the ballot.
Tina Kotek, champion democracy, unless voting kills taxes.
So, as of this morning, Kotek is still withholding her signature.
Democrats have double standards, or they’d have none at all.
