In October in NE Portland, one station was selling gas for $4.89!
Now consider that the Oregon Legislature just passed a 6-cent gas tax increase. That is very close to $5.00 gas in Oregon.
This near-$5.00 gas is also on top of the Legislature’s doubling the transit wage tax and doubling DMV fees.
Once, the Governor signs the bill, the Taxpayer Association will be involved in a statewide referendum petition to force this issue to voters for a public vote as a way to stop it.
The website StopTheGasTax.com has been formed to launch this petition drive (once the Governor signs it).
