Never do we recall a bill signed so quickly. The bill to swap the election date for the gas tax referendum was debated on the House floor, voted upon, signed by the House Speaker, Signed by the Senate President and signed by the Governor — all within a matter of hours.
Remember when Governor Kotek had her gas tax bill (Hb 3991) land on her desk at the start of October. Kotek delayed signing it until mid-November to cut in half the time that signature gatherers had to refer the bill with a petition referendum campaign.
